The remains of the garage and car after a fire broke out on Friday. Photo by Stephen Jeffery.A REDLAND Bay family has been left homeless after fire tore through their home on Thursday.
It’s believed the fire started in a car parked in the garage of the Keswick Place property at about 8.35am.
The residents of the house called triple-zero and evacuated the house. Nobody was injured during the blaze.
Four fire units, including a hazardous material team helped extinguish the blaze.
However, the garage and car were destroyed, while other parts of the house were severely damaged.
A Fire Investigation Unit team is working to determine the cause of the blaze, which remains unknown.
One of the occupants of the house left earlier that morning but did not see any sign of a fire starting at the property.
A “for sale” sign was posted at the front of the property before the fire broke out.
